ASHCOMBE PARK BOWLING CLUB
VISITING OUR CLUB
This page provides details of two of our visiting Clubs* in 2008, and provides a list of all the touring sides who chose to visit us. A similar page is being produced for last season. If you’re looking to tour the West Country, we can accommodate up to 12 rinks, and you will be made very welcome.
Touring Club: ISLAND BOHEMIAN BC (Friday 17th April) Result 110:100
Situated in the River Thames, near Reading, is De Montfort Island, the unique home of The Island Bohemian Bowls and Social Club. The Club owns half of the Island, and boasts a fine 6-rink bowling green, a spacious clubhouse, and pavilion, in a setting that would be hard to equal. All of this can only be accessed by a short river crossing in the Club’s own ferry. Our Club has been invited to play there this season (26th June).
Touring Club: YNYSANGHARAD PARK BC (Sunday 17th August) Result 126:74
Arundel BC
Beckenham and District
Beech Hill BC (Luton)
Victoria Park BC (Bideford)
Clockhouse BC; (Upminster)

Feniton BC (Devon)

Ashcombe Park Bowling Club wish to thank all those touring Clubs who visited us last season. We regret the weather which prevented any play in the match with South Oxford BC, and curtailed the match against Paignton BC. The remaining matches were completed and final scores are recorded in our Results Section. We enjoyed your company, and look forward to playing you again, either at our Club, or possibly on one of our tours - yet to be arranged.
We also look forward to welcoming other touring Clubs for next season, you will be assured of a very warm welcome - and hopefully also warm and sunny weather. There are many Bowling Clubs in the Weston-super-Mare area, so you can stay in the town, and as well as playing at our Club, easily travel to several other clubs in North Somerset. We have two greens and can accommodate 12 rinks.
