TRAVELING TO OUR CLUB
From M5 (J21 Traveling from North), or Bristol (A370)
The preferred route is ideal for visitors new to our Club, and approaches the Park on the left, to avoid crossing over the main road. There is a sign-post pointing towards the main Park entrance. From the Motorway, take the third exit on roundabout at Junction 21. This is the A370, a dual-carriageway road to the centre of Weston-super-Mare. There are a number of medium-sized roundabouts, which should be approached using the centre or outside lane. It will eventually split into a one-way (still dual-carriageway) road, passing the out-of-town shopping area. Move into the near-side lane.
At the end of this stretch of road, the two carriageways join again; keep going until reaching a main roundabout where you will need to turn right. The main A370 road is straight ahead, over a new bridge, but you need to take the road to the right, into the A3033, with “Aldi” supermarket on your left; look for the sign to “Weston College”. Travel over a railway bridge, and cross over the main road, into Ashcombe Road. Go across a mini-roundabout, then turn right at the main road ‘T’ junction; this is Milton Road.
Travel along this road for about half a mile, and Ashcombe Park will be approached on your left-hand side.
Note: Sat-Navs may take you direct to our Club, so that you arrive on the opposite side of the road. There is a zebra crossing shortly after the Park entrance.
From M5 (J22 Travelling from South)
The preferred route is fairly direct, although it may be prone to traffic hold-ups at peak times. From the Motorway, take the A38 north to a roundabout at the junction with the A370 to Weston-super-Mare. Follow to A370 toward the outskirts of the town, the road eventually drops down a hill to a roundabout by Weston hospital. Cross the roundabout following the A370 into Bridgwater Road, which later bends to the left.
As the road straightens take the A3033 right, immediately before a school; this is Devonshire Road. Cross over a humped-back railway bridge; the road now becomes Drove Road. At the next roundabout, is the main dual-carriageway into Weston; cross over this roundabout with “Aldi” supermarket on your left.
From East A371(Wells), A368 (Bath)
Although having the appearance of a reasonably direct road, both roads are narrow and twisty in places, and should be avoided with coaches. Follow signs to Weston-super-Mare, and you will eventually come to Banwell. This village has very narrow roads, and is a notorious ‘bottle-neck’ at peak times. After Banwell, the road is very good, eventually joining the main A370 into the town. Follow instructions as ‘From North’ “... This is the A370, a dual-carriageway road to the centre of Weston... “
