A Class of pupils from Herons' Moor Community School, enjoyed a spell away from the confines of the classroom with a visit to our Bowling Club on 22nd May. The idea, which came from the school, was arranged to give the youngsters an introduction to one of the many activities available via clubs and varied organisations throughout the area.
Ashcombe Park's president Tony Williams and club chairman Eric Booth welcomed the 16 youngsters and their teachers, who then enjoyed a coaching session from Roy Simmons, George Finnegan and club captain Alan Freke (pictured with the group, above).
Our Club would welcome visits from other schools in the area.
We hold regular training sessions - see Training Section.

Despite the inclement weather, an exciting match saw Ashcombe Park winners by just ten shots, 110:100. We won four of the six rinks, one by just one shot [17:16]. We thank Island Bohemiams of Reading for giving us such an enjoyable game, and hope another match can be arranged. Best Rink: Ms D. Norville, T. Edwards, Ms D. Henderson, J. Main [22:10]
