‘Crusaders’ are League Champions

Our “Crusaders” team produced a stunning performance to defeat Victoria BC by 49 shots in the Weston and district Over-sixties Triples League. The victory means that the “Crusaders” cannot now be caught, and will become league (div.1) champions, still with a match in hand. At home to Victoria BC, they won four of the six rinks. Top scoring were Sam Hedges, Don Stanton, and ‘skip’ Jim Creasey, who returned a 32-7 card.

Fear Cup Quarter-Final Exit for Ashcombe Ladies
After beating Yeovil LBC, our Ladies team played in the quarter finals on Aug 15th at Burnham-on-Sea. Unfortunately they only won on 1 of 3 rinks, and lost the game overall. It was a pity after making such good progress, but all agreed that this was a good achievement, nevertheless, and one the team could build on for next year.
‘Crusaders’ win the Knock-Out Cup
Our “Crusaders” team have won the final of the Weston Over-sixties Triples League Knock-out cup. They beet Weston St.Andrews, the win confirmed mid-way through the match when one rink stormed to a twenty-shot advantage. The match was played on Tuesday 2nd September, and was very well hosted by Victoria Bowling Club, who provide an excellent tea.
Sorry for the earlier mistake, when it was reported that the finalists would be Winscombe BC.

Our men’s “A” team secured a 14-shot win when they entertained Burnham-on-Sea in Division 1 North of the Somerset League.

The ‘Park’s’ “Crusaders team scored a handsome 30-shot victory when they visited Nailsea in the Weston over-sixties triples league, winning on four of the six rinks.

Our ladies’ team lost their Somerset League triples match with Winscombe, winning on just one of three rinks.

The Ladies’ Wessex league team won two of the three rinks to comfortably win their match with Mark Moor.
