ASHCOMBE PARK BOWLING CLUB
CLUB-EVENT PAGES
On Wednesday April 6th, a pre-season social event, saw members wearing ‘Easter Bonnets’, (although Easter was not until the 24th April), with a prize for the best bonnet, and runner-up. Just a reason to get-together before the season started.
Winner: Don Andrews
(the only man who wore a hat)
Winner and runner-up
Don and Barbara
Runner-up: Barbara Cullen
Voted the best ladies’ bonnet

Above, the ‘Easter Parade’ - judging is about to begin.
The day was warm and sunny, and all the members who attended enjoyed the social event. The new Centenary season was all but a few days away, and all bode well for another successful season.
Thanks to Tony Williams for taking some of the above photos.
In your Easter bonnet - with all those flowers upon it, you’ll be the best-dressed bowler in the Easter parade.
I won’t be covered in clover, should I knock you over, so wear the loudest yellow in the Easter parade.
Around the green, and in the Clubhouse, the photographers have snapped us, and you’ll find you’re in this web-site.
Oh I could write a sonnet about these Easter bonnets, and of those Ashcombe ladies in the Easter parade.
