Those who are seeking to maintain their fitness through a Health Club, should consider the benefits of Bowls as an extension to their fitness program
Bowls can provide an ideal way of keeping fit. It maintains agility, through the action of delivering your bowl (wood), whilst keeping your brain active, through concentration on the correct delivery.
If you have played team sports in the past, but find that you can no longer maintain the higher fitness levels required, then bowls is for you. If you still play sports, particularly golf, then bowls can extend your sporting interest.
Bowls requires some expertise, but since it is usually played as team sport, it can be learnt through playing the game. Both Ashcombe Park Bowling Club, during the summer season, and Woodspring Indoor Bowls Club, during the winter season, encourage participation in teams, whilst learning the game.
