Towards the end of the playing season, the Club arrange a Special Theme day, where we ‘dress-up’. In 2008 the theme was “Pyjama Game”, and in 2009 it was “School-days”.
Here are some photos from these two years, for more photos see the Achieves Files.
2008 THE PYJAMA GAME
Those who dared take up the challenge of the “Pyjama Game”, enjoyed a very enjoyable afternoon in pleasantly warm sunshine.
There were four triples, and two full rinks, and selection of teams was done on a purely random basis. Although scorecards were completed, all games were played in a friendly and jolly manner, appropriate for the occasion. After the game, an American Supper' was enjoyed, where each Member brought a plate of food. A vote on the best-dressed players gave Bee Edmunds best dressed lady, with Jill Wilkinson runner-up, and John Whitlow best-dressed man, with Barrie Webber runner-up. The results of the games didn't really matter, this time it was definitely ‘the taking part' and the fun time had by all.
