Admissions:
Persons seeking to gain Membership of the Club, in any of the Categories of Membership, defined above, shall be required, regardless of sex, race, creed, or colour, to complete an application form (this does not apply to partners of existing Members, who wish to join as Social Members only).  Two full Club Members, as Proposer and Seconder, shall countersign this application, which will then be prominently displayed in the Club premises for at least 7 days.
Those seeking Membership (other than Social Membership) will be informally interviewed by the Club Captain.  This will be your opportunity to formally meet him/her, and perhaps discuss your past experience, or ask some questions.  The Captain will then recommend approval (or disapproval) of the application to the next full meeting of the relevant Bowling Committee.  In addition, any Member of the Club may wish to support or oppose the application by addressing their comments/reasons in writing to the Secretary of the Bowling Committee.  These recommendations, and comments, together with any other information available to the Committee, shall be taken into account when the application is formally considered.  The Bowling Committee shall have the full discretion in accepting or rejecting the application.  The applicant shall be notified of the Bowling Committee’s decision in writing as soon as possible.
The Bowling Committee shall not be required to give any reason for rejection of an application.  Nevertheless, rejections are very rare, and even when objections are received, the Club would normally give an applicant the benefit of any doubt.
The Club does wish an applicant to be truthful about previous bowling experience, even if there has been a lengthy lapse of time since having previously bowled.  If you have had previous experience, and are unsure of your ability, come along to our training sessions, where your current performance can be properly assessed.
The above is for guidance only.  Full details are printed in our Members handbook, a copy of which can be shown on request.
This page is to advise existing Members of Club Fees, Match fees, and other costs.  It is also to advise prospective Members, the categories of Membership, how to become Members, what is required, and the costs that are involved.
