ASHCOMBE PARK Bowling Club is situated in Weston-super-Mare's premier park, surrounded by beautiful trees and shrubs, and being one and a half miles from the sea front, it is well sheltered from the brisk sea breezes.
The Club is a fully integrated mixed Club, with a membership of circa 180. Men and Ladies share key offices, and serve together on the main Management Committee. Additionally, every member has to carry out a roistered Duty', to ensure all the functions of the Club operate smoothly. This makes for a harmonious membership.
We celebrate our Centenary in 2011. A free Club shirt for all Members - see ‘Dress Code’
New and novice bowlers receive a warm welcome. Each Wednesday and Saturday morning (10 to 12), there are coaching sessions, open to all, and run by fully qualified coaches. You don’t need to join our Club before attending training sessions.
Although competitive, our Members enjoy friendly matches as much as Cup and League matches. Mixed matches are always over-subscribed, and much enjoyed by all. Finally, as testimony to the warm welcome visitors receive at Ashcombe Park, many touring teams make repeat visits to the Club - more touring sides are visiting us this year .
Why not give the game of bowls a try - we welcome anyone, of any age. Don’t wait until you retire to take up the sport. As part of your Membership will not be expected to play for the Club - and there are plenty of matches at weekends.
